Darlene is a Registered Nurse, with extensive experience in health care leadership, project planning and change management. She is also a certified professional coach dedicated to inspiring and supporting nurses to be transformational leaders. Her strong belief is that only by thinking creatively and working collaboratively will we solve the problems of today for healthier futures tomorrow. Darlene has taken her passion and enthusiasm for healthier lifestyles to numerous non-profits, various boards and committees. ‘NSTEP is indeed fortunate to have a strong Health Champion in Edmonton.
Leah Antoniuk – Edmonton ‘NSTEP Coordinator

Leah first got involved with ‘NSTEP as a practicum student in January of 2013. With a major in family studies, and minor in community nutrition Leah is interested in working in the field of health education locally or internationally. She is particularly interested in developing community nutrition programs for people of all ages and is excited to be part of the ‘NSTEP program in Edmonton.
Caitlin Hughes – Edmonton ‘NSTEP Coordinator
Undergraduate Student BSc. Nutrition and Food Science
Caitlin is an undergraduate student in the Nutrition Program at the University of Alberta. Her career plans are to become a Registered Dietitian. She believes that teaching children to live healthier lifestyles will lead to healthier communities. Caitlin has been working with ‘NSTEP since 2012 and is very passionate about bringing nutrition and activity education to the community.
Mikahelia Harris-Saunders- Edmonton ‘NSTEP Coordinator
BASc Nutrition and Food
Mikahelia is a recent graduate from Ryerson University’s Bachelor in Applied Nutrition and Food program. She believes in reconnecting people with their food through agriculture, community initiatives, food education and the social aspects of food such as family meals. Mikahelia uses her background in nutrition, interest in community programs and gardening to make living a healthy lifestyle practical and fun.
